IMPORTANT!

We have experienced a sharp increase in criminal activity in our neighbourhood, including several thefts from our Karunia property, as well as stolen items being stashed on our property. In order to deter these activities and increase safety for all, we have placed three security cameras on the exterior of our office. The only purpose for these cameras, which are equipped with motion sensors and flood lights, is to reduce property theft, damage, and criminal activity on our property. For that reason, there are no cameras at the front of the building, and at no time will clients be recorded entering or exiting our property. The cameras will point to the sides of the house, and the back yard.

The information recorded is not stored digitally. Only criminal activity will be saved, and only as long as required by governing authorities. The information is only accessible to the business owners, and will be deleted/re-recorded over regularly.

At this time, we believe that external video surveillance is the most effective method to reduce the ongoing thefts and additional criminal behaviour we have experienced on our property.  We will reassess the impact of having video surveillance and whether it remains the best option over the next 12 months.

By reading this statement and attending your appointment, you acknowledge that you have been informed of video surveillance on our property and wish to proceed. As stated, your entrance and exit to our building is not being recorded or monitored, and surveillance has nothing to do with our clinical work. The only purpose is to deter theft and other illegal activities on the premises.
