Normal Schnormal – Addressing Anxiety and Depression through Awareness and Attention
Saturdays from January 21 to February 25
Youth 11:30 am – 1:00 pm
Adults 2:00 – 3:30 pm
This group course is designed to explore who you are in relation to the world around you. Depression and anxiety may be part of your present experience, however, they need not dene your entire situation. You will have opportunity to identify your own symptoms and explore meaningful ways to work with them. We will use both individual and group activities to increase body and self awareness through stories, games, as well as breathing and relaxation techniques.
Experience Objectives
- learn more about the eect of depression and anxiety on ourselves and others
- practice breathing exercises to reduce stress and manage personal experience
- practice relaxation techniques
- incorporate fun and laughter in learning
- discover how exercise is connected to your emotional experience
- try basic meditation as an observer of emotions Learning Objectives
- shift your thoughts of the past or future to the present moment
- explore your personal experience of anxiety and/or depression
- enjoy positive relationships and explore ways to create these
