When I was younger, life was pretty clear. The sun was either shining or it was not - it was either day or night, black or white, true or false, right or wrong, good or evil, 'us' or 'them'. Clear thinking made for clear living - know the truth, live the right, be good, belong to 'us'. I was so intent on embracing the day and defining the night, that I did not notice when things were neither black or white, right or wrong, true or false, good or evil, 'us' or 'them'. The older I become, the more I 'see' and enjoy the beauty and diversity of the spaces that lie between the lines we draw - the brilliant colors of the dawn and the dusk that grace and bless each day and each night.
